The Cloudbreak series began with an image of a cloud I captured during a late-November sunset in 2016. My daughter, Evelyn (born just two-months prior), sat in her stroller laughing as I raked leaves in our front yard, and was coincidentally missing yet another day of amazing surf. I took a break to watch mother nature paint her canvas, and there was this cloud that looked like a massive wave detonating over a reef. The image stirred my imagination and I was curious to see how far I could take this concept of finding surf in the sky. The series was truly inspired by my daughter, as these images were captured with her right alongside me, chasing moments of beauty in the midst of a most chaotic time of life.
